Does anyone happen to know more about Eddie Edmunds' ancestors!? My reason for asking is because I'm also an Edmunds! Apparently it originated pre-7th century AD!

IMG_2595.JPG I bought my Edmunds heads at Hershey many years ago for $85. They have been on my roadster for at least 15 years. Looks like the plugs might be that old too!

I was told that Fenton bought out Edmunds in 1955, which would make sense since I've never seen any evidence of any Edmunds equipment for any engine that debuted after '54.

  12. Mo,

That beautiful Stovebolt with it’s Offenhauser valve cover inspired me to post this little gem I found. :)

He couldn't have made much money making parts for such low use engines. I have a 2 carb for the 40 50 series Buick

Actually, he probably did all right in that respect; for many of the offbeat engines, he was the only choice. He made intakes for, literally, EVERY engine being made in this country at the time. He didn't have to have a million of them cast, just enough to meet the demand. If you wanted to hop up your '40 Olds flathead six, where else could you go?

I'm a real fan of Edmunds 8BA heads (I have 2 1/2 sets). They are different from all other aftermarket heads (I know of) and stock Ford heads, as they have the spark plug relocated just enough so it is not over the exhaust valve. This allows the use of extended tip plugs, which have proven to be a great advantage to me. Here's a photo right down the spark plug hole. a standard plug , and an extended tip plug. These plugs have been in the engine for over 5 years and 6000 miles and still look good.
