If that isn't the definition of Jalopy...it has been posted before...reminds me of Gene Winfields Dry Lakes/Bonneville Racer Shield mod...it was a Road based Hotrod however as its plated...and beyond unusual...

It really is a freedom to do as one sees fit...and that truly applies to any Hotrod...will it float with those that see it? Well that many times wasn't the focus back in the day and that in itself still applies today...

I think this is a Coupster with many mods including the narrow Windshield, Deeeep channel, chassis swap, cool Jalopy bumper...

Way back in this thread or perhaps the Louver thread @Dean Lowe identified this fella and the Hotrod I believe...

@ratamahata this link below has the pic with the fella standing beside the coupe in a story with some info...

  16. In the 1990s, Jay Lockard took the last known photograph of the original 7-11, parked in his neighbor’s driveway. The owner was converting it to street duty. Note cooling and exhaust systems for the six-carbed Cadillac engine. Nose removal offers clear view of 3-inch channel job. Days after Lockard’s sighting, the coupe vanished. There is a lengthy story with pics below of this coupe which while an awesome Hotrod it is isn't highly unusual overall...

  21. That is Les Hawlkins with his coupe that would become the 15oz fuel coupe. The coupe is mixed up with the 7-11 coupe in the photos.

  25. I happen to know about the 15oz coupe because Les lived just a few blocks from where I grew up in West Covina, Ca. Mark Hinds knows more about it than I do. He lived just a few doors from Les, on the same street. All these years later Mark still talks with Les. Maybe Mark will chime in with some more history on the coupe, if he sees this.

Les is still with us...awesome...sure I welcome any info on the history anyone wants to share...I believe the top two pics are the 15oz Coupe with the last being the 7-11... @ratamahata was asking about the 15oz Coupe...

I did post a link to a thread on that Coupe and between that and Mark chiming in he should be able to fill in any blanks he may have...thanks again Dean...;)
