Hey guys, really hope someone could help me out with some advice. I’m swapping to a master/booster disc/disc setup for the brakes and hydraulic clutch(Tilton t/o bearing already installed on tremec tko) but am having a hell of a time figuring out how to get clearance for both master cylinders (booster is in the way). Anyone ever do a conversion on one of these cars like this? Thanks!

  2. That'll be a tough one... Space is so tight that even Ford didn't want to install the brake booster on these cars; if power brakes were ordered, Ford threw the parts in the trunk and made the dealers install them! That's one reason power brakes is a very rare option on these...

I'd give serious thought to going with either mechanical linkage or late Mustang cable linkage; or non-power brakes...

I can't believe you need power 4 wheel disk breaks on a 63 Comet, a 67 Corvette manual master cylinder will bolt up.

Consider hydro boost instead of vacuum assist. Much more compact and easy to retrofit with common junk yard or over the counter parts.

  7. I have a dual master on my '59 Ford and kept the brakes manual, it stops easily. Discs up front, drums out back.

I made up a steel plate that mounts the master and clutch master to the firewall.
