Ralph Salyer owned a plumbing company in Hammond, Indiana. He passed away in 2010.
His daughter may still have possession of the Cheeta. I worked with a fellow who knew Ralph
for years, back to the days he was still racing. This fellow was also on good terms with Ralph's daughter
who had access to the car. I tried to get him to talk to her about seeing the car and taking some
photos but it never happened.

Bocar xp5

 

Bocar xp5, the Bocar had, even by my standards some really strange combinations of parts, like a VW front suspension and a Jag De Dion rear axle, a couple of cars were built with Hemis, a couple with Pontiacs, some Fords, the rest with Chevys. I tried for years to get a body from locals that have cars, they were nice enough to me, but I never got one. I wanted to build a Hemi powered road racer Bocar. Carnes stopped selling bodies to the general public when he saw one of his cars mounted on a 4x4 chassis.

 

Looks like a hell of a waste of a good VW front end.
