I would say possibly 64-66 Mustang

Not early mustang. Seat back hinge not the same.

 

If the seat track goes with the seat, I'd guess older Datsun or Toyota...

 

you know that you can use google images search to look at interiors of cars you think might be what they came from.

Then you can rule out most of your guesses.

‘63-‘65 Comet or Falcon, the pattern looks to be similar to ‘64 Cyclone.

Should we assume the pattern of the upholstery is original to the seats? or might it have been changed?

 

I had a set of seats a while back that I thought for sure came out of something cool, but was told by a Ford guy they were pinto seats. They resembled yours.

 

I don't think I have ever seen a low back Pinto seat.

 

They look British sports car to me.

 

The shape looks similar to early T bird seats, not sure of the year, but I have a set in a 52 CJ3B. They were in it when I bought it 30 some years ago. Just a thought.

 

67 or 68 Mustang or T-Bird seats.

Pretty sure you're correct on the T bird seats, Jim. In 1958, they had the contrasting piping, like the op has.

A lot of things can change like covers, piping, etc. Can we get a better pic of the lean-back and set-back mechanisms to better compare to others?

 

I would unscrew the plastic hinge cover and check the back side for part numbers. If it's Ford it'll be a dead giveaway, part numbers were molded into the plastic. The seat tracks don't look like they match the seats. The seats clearly are reupholstered and might have even been cut down so it's too hard to say judging just by the shape.

 

I think you may well be correct. on '58 T bird as they look very close, '60 is too squared on the back.

I'd agree. The adjustment handle looks similar to those in a couple Triumph Spitfires I owned. My Spitfires were a 1969 and a 1972 if memory serves. I believe they both had higher backs (headrests), so perhaps they'd likely be early 60's?

Pretty sure those were standard issue bucket seats for every '33 Plymouth 5wd Coupe Street Rod originally built in the 1970s :

Google the 67- 68 Mustang image. My scanner and computer are not in sync. Was thinkin the T-Bird seats had the weird stitch line in the seat bottom outer panel towards the rear. The seats pictured have been redone. Cougar seats might also be an option. Of the same years.
