  3. Your opinion and I would think you are very much in the minority with that line of thinking, I have always believed the '55 Chevy to be very much a hot rod and anyone that has ever opened a hot rod magazine would see there have been hundreds ,if not thousands of hot rodded '55 Chevys over the years.

BTW, I have never owned a '55 Chevy but I am not one to deny the popularity of the car. HRP

  4. I use to think the same thing, I believe it was NSRA, now they think everything is.

I honestly Ryan's 65 and earlier is closer to what can define a HOT ROD! HRP

You appear to have changed your opinion over the last few years; I haven't. As to the NSRA, just think about what the acronym stands for. I don't give them any credibility when it comes to "Hot Rods".

But wasn't it the NSRA that defined the 48 and earlier cut off?
I respect your opinion, I just don't agree,I take it your thoughts are if a car is not a 48 or earlier it can't be a hot rod. HRP

This one is easy for me.
All the cars without a front bumper in all the car magazines from the 60s.
All the cars without a front bumper that ran at the old Harriman dragstrip in Tennessee.
My 55 Chevy I totaled a week after I got my drivers license.
They looked cool then... they all still do.. except my old 55. it got crushed in 68.

Sorry can't do this vehicle, too much wrong with it, narrow white wall tires in the back, inside the wheel well. Chrome reverse on the back, 10 spoke black walls on the front.

Front says gasser, rear says Mexican low rider with rear hydraulics extended. Poor car probably needs therapy.

The first thing I did when I bought my J was take the front bumper off.

If it's built like a drag car it can probably lose the front bumper. If it's a hi boy it can lose the bumpers. SPark
