    Terry,
That's a Bonneville Lakester without the rear sheet metal in place. The stacked tubes are canisters for the parachutes. Stop by some time ! IMG_2911.JPG

  3. Rebuilt one of my quadrajet carbs. I also drilled and plugged the internal leaks and reamed and installed new throttle bushings. It took a lot of time, but when I rush I make mistakes or break things.
I have an 800 cfm quadrajet that I am going to have to do next.
This is the first time I have drilled and installed the four Allen screws, but this carb was a leaker and couldn't be fixed in the normal way.

IMG_7431.jpg Just so you know how the mind of my 7 year old grandson works. Last weekend he helped me clean off some junk on my car trailer and helped me roll it out of the corner of the yard. He asked about the two 10 foot long 4x4's. I said he could have them for his tree fort. Next day he was over with his wagon hooked to his bike and peddled home with them.

Needed an 8" long piece of narrow bead to replace rusted section on 30 cowl that the cowl band sits on. Looked thru my bead roller dies and didn't think I had any combo to do the job. Searched the hamb and saw a solution involving tacking 2 pieces of flat bar to the welding table, rounding off the edge of a piece of flat bar to uses as a die, and pounding a piece of sheet metal into the gap between the flat bars with the die. Worked to my liking on the first try. Thanks hamb!!

  11. Took off the center carb and replaced the power valve. Drove over to a friend's place (road test) and had a couple of beer. Came home and fired up the BBQ.

Rescued a neighbor who decide to get himself stuck WAY out in the desert in a 2 wheel drive Toyota p/u with nothing but a cell phone. Note to self....never go out in the desert without water!

Got my temp spray booth all sealed back up and ready to spray a couple more coats on my 48 Willys Project. The paint I laid on it last memorial weekend wasn't thick enough and did not hold up to wet sanding. This time I won't make that mistake. Just painting the outside of the Tub Hood Windshield and Front Fenders the parts I will buff. The rest is plenty good as it won't be getting color sanded or buffed.

Installed another magnaflow muffler on the old Chevy, 3/8 flanges with 7/16 bolts, now I have a matched set, not a bad sound. DSCN3337.JPG

A friend organizes a yearly cruise event. Had a bit of a rainy start, but then the weather improved. Stopped at an OT race shop to see 195 MPH drag snow mobiles, current unlimited class record holder. Stopped at a collection shop building, with a nice F1, really nice traditional flathead powered 32, and a bare steel 32, amongst other treasures and oddities. Then 3rd stop at another friend’s place for dinner.

  28. Started to try to diagnose why the power wasn't getting to the power windows in my OT DD, but was interrupted by Bob, my neighborhood bull snake, who decided the garage floor felt nicer than the yard. I not so gently ushered him back out to the deep grass and told him to go kill some mice and rats.

Well the other day I went to pick up a y block from a friend
And ended up with a unsuspected addition
    [IMG]
I have always love this engine (esthetics of this engine )
The cross flow head helps to
But it so much reminds me of the offys , old air craft engines .
There’s some plus’s and some drawbacks , but for now it’s nice to see it in my garage , and let the dreaming begin!
    Ps , the y block
    Running piece , think it’s a 292 [IMG]
    Happy motoring to all
