Much as we all like stock looking 46-48 Fords in coupes, sedans, convertibles, and even woodies, those biggish cars are ripe for a mild custom look. One of my high school friends had a purple 46 Ford Coupe. It had a mild custom look, the standard California Rake, and white tuck and roll to go with the purple paint. It was as close to a full custom car that we would see at the local car shows on the weekends.

One cannot discount the custom look of this yellow 46 Ford convertible from So Cal. It shows up in various places, including in our rear view mirror. The smooth custom look with the hood, bumpers and color painted grille panels all make it one stylish convertible for those So Cal open air drives. (A nice contrast.)

The weather was just perfect for a top down cruise. Where were they going or coming from at noon? The beach, grocery shopping, cars and coffee, or just cruising around having fun.

If it is foggy or overcast, the black top comes up electronically. It becomes protection from the drizzle or mist, at its finest, yet, still cruising in So Cal or elsewhere.

 

Looks like "in progress" shots are ok, so here's mine. Still a ways to go yet.....

 

Some of these posting are getting way beyond ''HAMB friendly", just saying. JW

Hello,

Recently, while wandering around some old houses in The OC, out in front were a pack of hot rods in a mini car show. Most of the cars were dark, blue, black, maroon, and cream yellow. Right in the middle of all of these cool looking cars was this 1934 Ford red sedan. It stood out all by itself with the red color between the other colors. The stance was low and on a slight rake. That added to the hot rod look with flames coming at you in a rear view mirror.

But, the bright yellow flames with blue pinstriping made this hot rod stand out even more.
The blue pinstriping has some significance, being very subtle... a blue tipped flame is hot!
