Well I'm gonna start a build thread on my 55 I had bought on St. Patrciks day this year.

Was on the search for a nice solid roller. Didnt wanna pay twice as much locally for a car with no floors, or title little ridiculous what these things are going for. Needless to say I grabbed it for $2,300 bucks with title and plates. A gentleman in Kingfischer Oaklahoma had this 2dr post that was someone's pride and joy back in the day. It was equipped with some mechanical gauges still, oh yea and the sweet Hi Jacker air shocks, and extended shackles out back.

I paid for it sight unseen and did alot of daydreaming until the time came to go get it. Me and my grandfather made a little road trip on a Friday after work to go get this thing. Driving straight through (13.5 hrs from milwaukee) Loaded the 55 on the trailer and headed back. Made it back into town about 1 A.M. on Saturday night.

Needless to say it was a long ride back with the excitement brewing.

Here is some pics how we picked this basket case up and progress pics to come. But I finally own the car I have been dreaming of since I saw American graffitti with my dad and grandpa. Probably even before I was in the first grade..

    Let's get this thing going. 20190303_000545.jpeg 20190303_000300.jpeg received_1249846328500734.jpeg received_550344202035909%20(1).jpeg 20190303_000246.jpeg

Now here comes some progress. I couldnt resist that next Sunday unloading it, and jamming some wheels on it. The funds were tight seeing I just dropped about all of it on this. So it took me about a month to get back in the right spot.

Here I go... grabbed my old 454 in the corner bolted the trans up and started mocking it up.
By now I get spend happy and start ordering parts from every website I visited.

The headers and motor mount kit came from speedway motors. Really nice fit but I do have to say the driver side header needed the old hammer trick seeing i dont have access to alot of fab tools in my garage.

As I dont plan on painting this anytime soon. (I do restorations for a living so bodywork at home dont jive lol)

I installed the glass with the help of a friend of mine. What a B*%$h

Here is where it starts to get fun parts are rollin in like you wouldnt believe. (Had to buy my chick a diamond tennis bracelet to keep her cool lol.)

    I ordered 15x8 chrome reverse. I'm running a 30x9x15 M/T slick.

Fronts are temporary they are 165/80r/15
I would like to switch to a 710-15 Firestone gum dipped front tire.

With the help of my buddy and his tire machine we got all the rubbers wrapped.

I like mis matched wheels on nostaligic Street/Drag cars.

    My opinion PERFECT!

FYI I'm not good at these build threads so bear with me lol.

Ordered a TR2x tunnelram off Ebay got a super gnarly price on it so I count pass it up.

Along with a set of moroso covers.

Now I know where everything want to sit with the mounts in and tacked. Clearence was great with tunnelram and headers.

    On to the next. 20190504_115334.jpeg 20190504_144914.jpeg 20190504_145051.jpeg 20190504_150000.jpeg 20190504_155255.jpeg 20190505_001747.jpeg IMG_20190506_080154_965.jpeg

So I pldid some horse trading for this bad boy of a motor. Traded some paint work on some motorcycle tins for the big block. Has 50 miles on it since rebuilt all done professionally in town here. Good friend of mine had it from his chevelle so smooches him into it.

    It's a 496 4 bolt.
    Comp cam and valve train
    13:1 compression
Gear drive (because I cant afford a blower yet)
Vertex mag I got another screaming deal on.
Green fiberglass fan like Two Lane.
Pretty much it plain Jane for this thing but cool.

Well haven't had a minute to post on this thread. So with the motor out ect. I started to do my "interior"
    Fresh black loop carpet.
    Door sills
Mounted the gauges under the dash. Ran the main harness u dr the dash and got it all hooked up.

Looking for a pair of old buckets either lightweight or cheap as long as their black lol. This thing ain't fancy. Not sure if my chicks gonna dig the seat comfort but oh well. ...
The trunk separation panel i want to do out of engine turned aluminum or whatever. I have a new black package tray to drop in eventually lol.

NO roll bar as of now I will down the line.
