Yea it's been here before. :) But not these shots

The original owner Bob Nordskog was a well-known boat racer and an entrepreneur that loved speed. He built a dual purpose show race car that was out of this world called Asteroid. This car was delivered to Barris Kustoms in 1963 with 10 miles on the odometer. The body was radically transformed and finished off with an extreme metallic paint job.

    1963 Chevrolet Corvette GS-II

Despite being labeled as a Corvette by GM marketing, the GS-II was an experimental race car that paralleled Chaparral development. The project was headed by F.J. Winchell, vice-president of GM engineering, who wanted to build a mid-engine Sportscar that would out perform and become an extension of the Grand Sport (GS-I) Corvettes. He probably named it Corvette to avoid Chevrolet bureaucracy while at the same time using it to test highly advanced racecar engineering.

The design was loosely based around the Monza GT concept car which used Corvair running gear in Chevrolet's first monocoque design. But unlike the Monza GT, the GS-II took the theme several steps further by using light-gauge steel, an experimental 327 V8 engine that was all-aluminum and a one-speed transmission.

No LB-2 different cars altogether. The X Car was the Lufkin Jones Corvette, that was part 62 in looks, with a modified and lightened 60 Vette chassis with suspension mods by Frank Kurtis that was originally used at Bonneville and later drag raced with a 64 SBC Vette engine modified originally to 371 Cubic inch.

The Dave McDonald 00 61 Vette has a special chassis built by Max Balchowsky of Old Yeller fame. Car weighed only 1750lbs I have read. Car was originally built as a road racer as opposed to a straight line car.

Both cars had highly modified bodies and both were super cool but different animals for sure.

Roo, yes it is. Some people question the car but he ran a Hemi and was quite successful. It won best engineered at one of the national events, although would have to look at my notes to state which event.

LB it is Earl Britt's Pizza man in one of it's earliest configurations. I believe it is 1964 when MP came into it's own but I cannot swear to it. A acquaintance of mine owned the car for a number of years and cleaned the car up to what it is today and I will ask him one of these days.

The Winternationals IIRC. And the car originally had a big block Chevy before Arend had Ollie Olson build the hemi

It says 65 Winternationals "Street Eliminator" on the fender, that was quit an accomplishment.
