Thanks goes to you Bleach for posting all your pics and especially the ones of the 60 Plymouths. We never got them here in Australia so it's great to see all their promotional stuff.

  3. I can see how you guys could sleep in one of those. They were really cavernous inside.

This last Imperial looks like Rockafellers car. If so it's about 3 miles from here.

I shall offer an apology on the part of all my fellow Americans for the horror inflicted on you by that rolling cesspool.

And supposedly, the reason behind Eddie Cochran writing the song 'Jeannie, Jeannie, Jeannie' after they appeared together in the film Untamed Youth.

That light blue jeep has the mount for the cable cutter from WW2.The Germans would string cable over the roads hoping to decapitate allied Jeep drivers.

  23. Looks more like a trailer hitch - so that it can be towed behind a car. There is a folded windshield there as well.

The first photo shows Al Unser going up Pikes Peak in 1964. I believe he beat out brother Bobby that year to win. The car was built by Vince Conze.

The second photo shows Jerry Unser (at far right) watching as his McKay Special is fuel at the Mobil fuel building at Indy in 1958. He ended up riding this car over the Third Turn wall in the first lap crash that year but basically walked away with a dislocated shoulder. The shoulder was popped back into place in the Infield Hospital by a doctor while brothers Bobby and Louie physically held Jerry down.
