Thinking about a sbf and auto in my new '54 ranch wagon project. It currently has a Y block and 3 speed and I'm not sure ab0ut a column. I don't want an after market tilt column with the key in the column. I want to run the stock steering wheel. Limeworks has something that looks like it might work but no built in turn signals. I have a lead on a column out of a '61 Galaxie.Anyone used one or similar? Or any other thoughts? Thanks.
I believe it will require a different column drop since the tube is a larger diameter. Not sure about other issues but whatever way I go I'm sure any issues can be dealt with.
A 1952-54 Ford-O-Matic column would be a lot better here's where to find one. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=347866255934591 They are easy to adapt to an AOD or C4.
That would be a affirmative. And as Jeff said the 52 -54 Ford column would be ideal, If you want one of those contact Flat Top Bob at Owens Auto Salvage in Wellington, Texas, he has a 100 acre yard and a bunch of 52-54 fords. He will shipo and I have bought a bunch of 54 Ford parts from him over the years. BTW, Bob is a Alliance Vendor and that too can save you a few bucks. HRP
Thanks Jeff and HRP. I figured a 52-54 automatic column would be the best option but haven't found one yet locally. I'll check out the leads you both provided.
