Everything comes with a price, some just have to pay more than others. No choir boy here, either.

Racing a decked out Evil, Wicked, Mean and Nasty 57 and getting it back and forth with a Near Brand New Bonneville isn't to bad either...perhaps they even sported tri power 389's or 421's to boot...

  15. These are the only engine pictures I have run across. These pictures not being at a track really make me wonder where they were taken. These pictures look to be at least a season on two later the the pictures in the original post. SRR3.jpg SRR1.jpg SRR2.jpg

  17. I lied about being the only engine shot I have seen, but this one is newer, maybe the early eighties. For what its worth, this is the current Shake Rattle & Run. There was an article in the local Gearhead news claiming the body is still the original, having been wrecked and rebuilt. There was a full on pro mod shake rattle and run in the late nineties that bear little resemblance to a real 1957 Chevy, and I hope to never see that ugly thing again!
Mods, If the last pic is to off topic I will delete it. Shake Rattle & Run on Chicago lakefront I.jpg shake rattle and run new.jpg

I note three names on the door in the black and white pics...I tried to find pics when CB......(maybe CB is Casper) owned it as it was apparently named by him...that would be interesting to see as well...mind you the OP likes the 65ish version but it would help round the history of this long story...

I see the Hancock Building but not the Sears Tower in the skyline, that should give a decent time frame from when the pic. was taken.

I remember seeing the car at K K dragway in Wisconsin in the summer of 69 . I was driving a 57 Chevy E/Gas car for a guy back then. It was a C/Gas car at the time and it was one bad hot rod. It had the vinyl top then if I remember .

  22. I think that is the Prudential Building, rather than Hancock. Hancock construction started 1965, completed 1969. Hancock is a dark brown color, to Prudential's white color.

Look just to the left of the hood scoop. You can see the antennas on the top of the 'Cock.

I remember seeing the car at the Cordova, IL drag strip. It was bad and very well done. The driver and pet crew were know to be bad boys. I would like to know more about the jail time comment.

    From the Oct. '77 issue of Cars. 20190523_235020.jpg 20190523_235317.jpg 20190523_234853.jpg 20190523_234914.jpg 20190523_234941.jpg
The story has changed a little over the years, and the Messinos did have some legal trouble also. I really liked the car, but not the Pro Mod version.

Fordors.........appreciate the heads up regarding their legal issues. Obviously, they lived up to their reputation. There is a lot of info regarding their convictions on cocaine trafficing. thx
