Back when I was a kid in the lacquer primer and paint days we used to put some leftover color into light gray primer just to tint it a little for the hell of it. The best one I ever did was a little red and a little blue and it came out kind of a lavender. Only picture I have of anything in primer is this one and it's not very good. The Olds never got much past this point but I did finish the 27. filename-1 (9).jpg

Bottom was a light green primer...
I'm referring to my Buick not my nephew!

Love that car. I just want to kick myself in the ass for selling my LaSalle coupe.

Rather it be grey primer, then painted and full of rock chips

  10. Hey, that's a good idea for a thread, " Your hot rod or Custom parked where it should be" [IMG]

It would be ill advised to met your mistress at a out of the way motel and drive your roadster, it's kind of a clue if your foolin' around! :D HRP

4 years of primer. I painted it as this is my last chance for a shiny car.

I drove my roadster for about a year while I de-bugged it.
    I used HOK KD 3000 primer surfacer/sealer.
I chose red which helps hide rock chips and required less base coat color to cover.
I considered clear coating the primer but after spraying a test panel I picked HOK Blue Blood color.

My '57 F100 big window never made it past primer with me. My '68 Javelin was always a primer car. My '69 Rebel was a primer car for 2 years before paint. Got totaled 6 months after it was painted by a hit and run driver. My '62 unibody is bare metal and primer.

When I started the '32 build, the wife wanted it to get proper paint and interior. It looks fine in primer to me. She gets the paint and upholstery bill on this one!

  19. If you like primer, here's some for everybody. My old pile-o-parts has 4 colors from back in its former life.
Too patchwork for me, guess the next step is all one shade.
Thanks to Mrs. HRP for the pic.
