Technical Fuel pressure again.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Coupe_of_Frankfurt, May 21, 2019.

  1. Hi all. I’ve heard and read so many answers that I hope to end the confusion with a post. Here’s a picture of my setup and I want to know if I should run a fuel pressure regulator with a stock tank. There are so many answers and figures around. Additionally I learned that a gravity fed tank above the Strombergs needs a valve to avoid flooding. Thanks for any reasonable insight.[IMG]

Yes,use a Reg. set at 2 to 3 psi. A cut off valve is always good.

    Should you run a regulator...again..?

YES...IF...your fuel pressure is over 2 to 3 psi..!
    Pretty simple really.

I don't see why you need a regulator with a stock pump, but definitely install a shut off if you use the stock tank.

  7. Thanks for your answers so far. I must add,
    - I meant if I need an additional valve. I have the stock shut-off valve inside the car.
    - I simply don't know how much pressure the mechanical (7RA) pump produces and if that's above the 2,3 psi. Got many different opinions.
