Features Channelled Hot Rods Pic Thread

My Jalopy I'm piecing together.

 

Here's my '32 5 W. It was channeled about 6 3/4" but I have raised the front up 2" to get the super nice original firewall slid in since these photos were taken....and to make it more comfortable for my 6'1" frame to drive. Currently in the process of changing all kinds of shit up on it and thought about making a build thread on it.

 

Why do us 6'+ guys want these 4'- Heaps ???....Go figure...


and then there's "Squeezbox"

 

Anyone familiar with this late 50's hot rod from the Pennsylvania area? Its a 30-31 with 32 fenders welded to the quarters.

 

Memorial day bump for this thread because it blows my mind guys thought to cut the floors out of their hot rods to lower them back in the day. Go AMERICA.

 

I actually like this! I'd do that in a heart beat to a glass body.

 

Mine was channeled in the mid 50's in Washington...added full belly pan and hood in the mid 90's

Anybody post a photo of Doug Rice?

It was his daily driver, he said he'd start cutting on it Friday night and weld it back together in time to go to work on Monday. That car is still around today.

 

This thread is so old that i have built another car. Here is my tube framed channeled 34 coupe, built from a sedan, a 41 international, and a 57 buick for the roof insert.

 

I like that! Nice work.

Hey Ramblin Dan where'd you find that picture of my old hot rod? This was a couple years before I bought it and turned it into the white car. Still have the windshield though

 

I believe it was in one of the books like Deluxe Hot rod, Rodz or Rod And Kulture from the 2000s era. Sorry I can't be of more help other than that cause there is about 4 milk crates of them under my stairs and I have no idea which one it's in. My uncle would buy all those books and thumb through them then pass them on to me. I would go through them looking for cool car ideas for my project and that is one cool car.

Mines channeled 6"!!!

 

Enfield Joe Built the car, but it now belongs to me, I bought it in 2015 from the guy in New York that he sold it to. The car now lives in Alaska , and I have made a few minor changes, and improvements, and finished a few things that needed attention

 

Was at a car show in Frankenmuth Mich. in 2011 and took a picture of this channeled Deuce. Very cool.

My coupe has a minor 7”+ channel. It was actually channeled two different times, and then unchanneled an inch in the front.

This car is so cool on so many levels. The engine choice and detail really separate it from the pack.
