That is your freedom to choose what floats your boat...enjoy. I would say there was a huge amount of the population of the Hotrod/Race Culture that thought differently including today...hence a place to celebrate it and I will continue to discover the other great things accomplished around that which has already been...and of course those that position themselves in the shoes of the past and walk the mile...;)

A truly great thread started by @onekoolkat1950...many thanks to all those who choose and contribute looking outside the lines in the sand.

6 1/2" chop on my last old coupe above... I noticed the current owner raised the headlights and turned the cowl lights around and also took the hood sides off....

Hamber @fiftyv8 has a cool GM Tank engined V8 powered Hotrod that has appeared here quite some time ago and it is showcased in here amongst a number of other cool Caddy powered Hotrods...check it out...

Someone will chime in I was thinking Hilborn but can't connect that dot...

@HEMI32 did a thread on Belly Tanks and perhaps the answer lies within that thread...or @Jimmy B will shed some light on this Beauty of a bygone era...perhaps it was partially inspired by that Stunning Stutz at Daytona Beach...especially the Fenders...

    & BIG Honkin' Headlights...as @Six Ball said there was a time...I think that's a V12 to boot...

I don't think it's an A Shell...it may be on a Cadillac chassis or something similar to those A Body Deusenberg's I posted some time ago...totally spot on thread material however and those Dry Lakes were full of extremely interesting mixes in vehicles.

Pretty sure that is Bob Ruffi's streamliner. It turned a one way speed of 146 mph in 1940 and a two way average of 140. It ran a Chevy four cylinder. Someone recently found what was left of it. The frame was electrical conduit. A famous piece of dry lakes history.

Fleetwood_Cadillac_V16_Roadster_1931_107_01.jpg Fleetwood_Cadillac_V16_Roadster_1930_18.jpg Anthony, thats a V16 Cadillac engine looks like the radiator might be from it too.

  20. Cool
Would be hard to get less homoginizef than a 32 on Caddy chassis

@anthony myrick......That's a really cool one too...a real oddball...but it gets the Ladies interest though eh!...:D

I think I that a Dry Lakes roadster is a V12 as the covers don't look long enough and Cadillac made a V12...I'm even wondering if it's a Ford body on it...it's still a natural for the thread of course... @studebakerjoe your thoughts? Whatever it is is was probably a blast to drive...

Yes, a really significant car and builder. And the tie to the S&G roadster only adds to the story. What was found of it was mostly a mess of electrical conduit I think but still a find. I don't know who has it or if there are plans. I have never built one of these engines but I have the stuff to do one now and a friend here with lots of experience with them. I think it was Ruffi who said making power from one was like trying to make power from a tissue box. :D

    :D

Whatever was consumed to make oneself creative and happy I'm good with it as long as if the mind altering stimulation stayed in the shop and off the road...and as we know that is to this day a problem...

This fella may have just had truly a unique (without question) way of creativity...all part of the big picture.
