Hot Rods Orange hot rods & Customs

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, May 20, 2019.

  1. I had a orange Deuce roadster but after several years of ," I see your a Clemson Fan or Tennessee fan" and it bugged me so much I sold it, That was just one of my many mistakes with hot rods,

Lets see some orange cars or trucks.

    My old roadster. HRP

Oj being my fav. color, those that know that would likely think it odd, that I've never had a OJ car. But have had lots of cars with flames=OJ in the flames ! I think that counts. Some sexy OJ cars posted, thanks.

  19. I had the car long before I joined the Hamb, I probably had it for 9 or 10 years and it was stupid fast.

But I got the itch for a 5 window coupe that a friend was wanting to sale, the coupe was a nice car and I was going to rebuild it to my specs but after playing with it a while I got a PM from fellow Hamber 56Don asking me about the car and it seems he knew things about it noone would know unless they built it, I did some investigating and my friend had purchased it in Alabama from a friend of his and that gentleman had bought it from Don.

We talked back and forth for a few months and I decided Don really should be the caretaker of the car again, I don't think he will ever let it get away again. HRP

An old 'friend' said he wanted to build a roadster. Hooked him up w/a '31 DeLuxe roadster, all apart.
Joe sold everything but the body, frame, and radiator shell. Channeled it, painted it Fiesta orange. '53 Buick nail, '39 box.
My Grandma found an old cannon ball in her yard, rusted, looked like a miniature planet!
Joe HAD to have the cannon ball as a gearshift knob, after drilling it out (5 drill bits! Hard stuff!) he painted it the car's color, atop the long stick.
Guys actually asked him: "That an orange?"

  24. I've never had anyone say anything negative about the color, the ones that do comment seem to like it, and are surprised when I tell them I painted it myself 25 years ago. I like orange on Hotrods better than customs, but if it's the right custom, orange works.

Orange Crate, one of my favorite '32s ever.

Here's another famous orange drag car, the Speed Sport roadster.

There is an orange that supposedly was a Chrysler color called Hemi Orange. Used to be a 73 or 74 Cuda running around here that color, it had a shine and depth to it I haven’t seen since. Don’t know if it was factory paint or not, I was only about 15 years old, but it stuck in my mind as the perfect orange. Have seen a few since then, but none had that depth look to them. No pics, didn’t even own a camera back then.
