Last week I bought the May 1950 issue of Road and Track and it has one of Baldwin's Special in it. I like!

I am a retired teacher. I'm not the only one who is happy with that decision.

Yes it's an unusual style and those did have that...
I was thinking it's an much older build that has sat around due to what could be many issues...but it's nice to see it surrounded by Bias plys and other vintage pieces as in it was going to be a Hamb friendly...the tent thing was probably a fairly recent addition...sometimes life doesn't go as planned.

I just noticed the pipes are actually square...that's a new one.

Sorta reminds me of these kids trying to be rebellous , different , one of a kind but they don't seem to realize they are all pretty much the same . Hot rodding to me is to take whatever car you thinks is cool and make it really cool to you , not everybody else. I sorta am at odds with some of these easy bolt on billet, chrome or whatever that are all the same. More fun for me to make what ever I possibly can . I heard of this wrap stuff that you can apply to a dash to make it look wood grain ( must have stole that idea from 75 ford station wagon) , Id much rather have it painted or if possible learn to do it myself
( read an interesting article years ago on how to do wood grain and seemed doable)

Yeah there was pressure to conform and still is maybe even more so...but that didn't stop what we celebrate here...

There is a few Hamber's that are very well versed in Woodgrain...You might want to search that...You may be surprised what you'll find...;)

One would be @theHIGHLANDER an Incredible Craftsman and Very, Very good at the art of Woodgrain...see link below

Love 30-31 coupes with stock radiator shells, roadsters too. How much of a chop is that?

This is great. Today the street rodders would call it a rat rod.

  27. The PBR roadster is a "go-cart".... That photo isn't old, you can see the late models at the far right.
The building in the background appears to be the same in this photo:
