Does the average hamber welds his exhaust pipes like this? Or loose like this Spent 4 hours running around looking for fittings and gaskets I should have just welded the sob EDIT: I'm looking for tips or pointers for building my own exhaust.
Depends on weather I'm building headers or replacing stock style exhaust. Headers get a full inside weld to flange. Cones are made to seal on matting receiver of manifold. I've actually made Cone and Flair joints at mufflers. No welds or gaskets.
These are for building headers: I think these are for joining exhaust pipes to exhaust manifolds, using a donut gasket in between, not for building headers.
Ok. Let me be specific. Im not working with headers.. Do you guys bell-donut gasket-bolt flange from exhaust to manifold? Or do some weld the exhaust to flange eliminating the bell and donut gasket... Dont care if your welds look good or not, that was an example.. Thanks
Depends Joints that kinda flex or need adjustability get a ball flange socket. I see A Lot of bolted flange solid weld break. That’s factory stuff too.
