Fontanini & Nanini at Broadway Bob’s Union Grove. Al Fontanini was a stickler for light weight, the bolts on the chassis of his later, injected alcohol car were all rifle drilled.

    Surfers ?
(from above) - Wow, a lot going on here.
Rear tires beads are off the wheel rim, the front tires beads are off the wheel rim.
The throttle is almost closed at some point way down track and the left front tire is off (still off ?) the ground.

    Great shot from whom-ever...

  10. Not the Surfers. Their car had a very small aluminum wind deflector on the cowl, not the plexi wrap around seen on this car. I believe they continued to run their chrome, stock valve covers, until they parked the car in '67. (They were not much for spending money to replace parts that were functioning well with "newer and better" just because everyone else had them, Donovan valve covers.) Although there is photographic evidence of them trying an Enderle injector at least once, they quickly returned to their "Laguna Leaker" with the iconic yellow scoop.

Nope! Kelly Brown at the Pond in Jim Brisette's car. And is was definitely WAYYY down track as it ran 219 mph on this pass. Here is another shot of Kelly doing the same thing at Riverside. I am surprised that you did not know this one Mike.

And here is a shot of the car as recreated by Roger "Riceman" Lee with original shoe Paul Sutherland in the seat

All of the restored and replicated cars should make a tire blazing full pass, says the guy who doesn't own one ;)

yes, there are manufacturers that have that similar body style. Roo would have the best knowledge as far as quality goes.
