The Roosevelt Dairy car was a top west coast car in the early 60s and was the 1961 CRA Championship car. Never seen a picture of it with wire wheels before and the size of the RR tire tells me that shot was much later in its life. Maybe it was a photo op after it was retired (?)

I guess I don't understand California license plate dates. Nixon and Lodge ran against Kennedy in 1960 for the Presidency. But the license plates on the car are showing a 1956 date? Were plates good for multiple years at the time?
