This 58 Merc wagon floats my boat this AM, I have never come across one in my years of shows/travel

 

Those wagons are pretty rare. You don't see very many, but every once in a while I come across one. I know it's not a '58, but there was a nice '59 at the 34th Leadsled Spectacular back in 2014. Pretty cool to see one! E

This is from the era where I stopped buying the 25 cent little magazines. I'm not a fan of kitchen cabinet (Kabinet?) drawer pull knobs. Maybe the judges awarded a "point" of each knob?

Lyle Lake's 1952 Buick Riviera, famously known as the Blue Danube, was restyled by Barris Kustoms in 1956. This photo of the Blue Danube in primer comes from the Ron Dragoo Collection. Lyle was from Orlando, Florida, but Junior Conway remembers him working on and off at Barris Kustoms in the summer of 1956. Taken during the build, this photo seems to be taken at an outdoor car show, maybe at the Hollywood Park?
