Technical Changing steering on a 1956 Buick

    Hello guys I have a manual steering 1956 Buick Century ,wondering how much trouble is it to change it to power steering..I have everything, the pulleys,pump,brackets,steering box,and steering column for power steering..No hoses though.. Thanks

    I did my 56 not hard I think the pitman arm is specific to PS Manuel is different. Top steering seals if it needs to be replaced are available.

    If you have all the stock stuff from the same year and model , it's just a bolt in job. Not a big deal. The factory shop manual is your friend.

    If the PS pitman arm is longer or shorter, I would assume that idler arm will be also.

    I'm guessing he is done with the conversion as the OP was back on May 12th.
