i think I may need to step up a size on my next build.

On the Produce truck I ran a small VW tire, just because that’s what I always do. I think I probably sacrifice some ride for the big n littles feel. I have played with tire pressures etc, but it is what it is.

So, I’ll open this up to every make, but the 35-40 Ford’s are the main focus I am interested in.

  2. I use to run 135 x 15's on the front of my '40 Fords, they rode fine. HRP

  8. 1:45 SR 15's. Rides as good as a buggy spring Model A is going to ride.

  9. 1:45 15's on this one too. No problem at nearly 145 at Riverside.

215/60/15, fat fender, fat tire. Just what I had mounted at the time. Probably go to a 70 series when I buy tires again.

All the tires I find for a 4.5 inch wheel are speed rated for 93mph, unless I look at drag race tires. Are you looking for a skinny tire?

I actually am running a 5" wheel. It sits pretty low now. I am running the 165/80/15's. It's pretty much my go to tire, but I was wondering if I could get a little more ground clearance and soften the ride. I am scraping up all the Possums in Canadian County.

Reads like a race to the bottom. How low can you go? The title of this thread begs for such boasts. I'm rolling on 550-18. Good luck in the corners! Fred A

  25. Yes. But every major gasser team in the 60's used exactly the same tire. Speed rating, what's that?? ;)

I have 205/70 by 15 on my coupe now. 225/75 by 15 on the rear. I like larger tires on the front, I think they steer ( handle ) better with larger rear tires. 195/65 by 15 are also a good choice and 1" smaller diameter. Later Bill
