Engine been sitting for about 4-5 years and I don’t want to dry start it. Can i prime it like a small block Chevy and get the oil primed? Have occasional been spraying wd40 in spark plug holes and hand cranking during the years. It’s a cool engine Preditor cam Chevy valves 3 twos etc

Yes. Prime it in a counter clockwise rotation. Best to rotate the engine a quarter turn (clockwise) and repeat a few times. I like to use some MMO in the fuel at startup on engines that haven't been run in awhile also.

Unlike Chevy, there will be no oil showing at the rockers if the cam is not rotating. That's because the oil path to each bank goes right through a cam journal, but only when the cross drilled holes line up once every revolution of the cam.

Sounds like a cool engine to me.
