Technical What did you do today?

Drained my fuel system in the 41 in preparation to change out fuel pump, regulator and ad a return line.
Cleaned up a tri-five disc brake kit to put on craigslist and also cleaned the 41's rear rims, killed enough brain cells today with all those fumes.

 

...drove my 55 pickup for the first time today, about 8 miles, everything seems good so far...

 

Finally got the adjustment right on my neutral start switch. Been fighting it ever since I replaced the Ford-0-Matic with a Cruise-0-Matic. Making an additional spot on the indicator added to the problem.

 

Here's the trick.
Open the hood as far as it will go then screwdriver it. Plenty of room with the hood on.

 

Be my luck to catch that screwdriver with my elbow, knock it out of the stay, have it land point down on the fender and punch a hole in the 'glass. Meanwhile, trying to catch it, I'd drop the radiator on top of the fan and slice it AND my hand open. I ain't saying I have bad luck, but I could walk through a storm of poontang and get slapped in the face by a dick

 

I have to say that is a pretty radiator!

 

That was funnier that shit!

 

I can't take credit for it, somebody a lot funnier than me got rich saying it

Did my best to seal up the leaks I mentioned. Hopefully it works sufficiently well for another eight months.

 

A quick lunchtime run to the transmission shop, picked up my 37 with now a correctly working transmission, and drove home before it started raining again.

Tried to replace a lifter in my 351C without pulling off the intake. Of course it had to be one in the middle, just beyond the large access holes.

 

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!! I seriously laughed out loud at this & then tried explaining to my wife why I was laughing. She chuckled, but didn’t find it nearly as funny as I did. I’m still laughing about this & it’s been a couple hours since I first read it. Thanks for making my day even better. Great post.

I fixed the fog lights on my motorcycle and had to rode test them. It was a beautiful Tn. day.
Got back and installed my switches and starter button on my Morris Minor Gasser project.

 

Today I hung a rear bumper on my '34 P/U project.
I had to make irons because the '34 panel irons I bought would not work.
Remake irons, relocate tail lights because the bumper hid the license plate, etc.
10 hrs total.

 

Well got that desk done in 4 coats ( who would have thought )
Hot wheels cars mounted
Broke a screw in one of the cars , no big deal it was a Jetta or something that looks like it sure hope the little guy likes it

Well, it rained last night and the seal job seemed to do the trick. I have to admit I threw the PO under the bus about the window seals; he didn't pull them off, just the front edges where the vent windows close up against the roof are gone (a known failure spot). "Sorry, dude." Anyway, now I can seal up the floor without creating water bowls.

 

...thanks, it's running a 292 Chevy six inline/350 turbo trans,Nova sub and rear,...finally got it out of the shop after 4 years since starting to build it,..have other old vehicles so wasn't in any hurry .

 

Finally replaced the 160* thermostat with the correct 170* in my 56 Y-Block. Permatex#2 is always a pain...NPS had the right one....

 

Washed last year’s dirt, grime and brake dust off between rain storms. Need to wax it still, in preparation for this year’s dirt, grime and brake dust.

Installed longer studs, in my M/W Axles, put together, I side, of the Rotor, and bearing preload set, and took a Glamour Shot of the power, for my 40 Willys build, and I was able to finish the rear floaters.

Kinda confused on your use of "floaters" Unless I'm just seeing it wrong or not up on Mark Williams rears... We run floater axles on our dirt car and the hubs are on the housing with large nuts and double bearings The axles have splines on each end.

 

Pulled the heads on a Ford engine to check for cracks.

After a 12 hour day of work I went home and started looking online for a new reason to start building that little 327 sbc I have sitting in the shed. Not that the wife will let me buy anything else since my Ford is in the paint shop and my second truck is sitting in the garage waiting until I finish the first one. We can still day dream right ??? Lol! Hope everyone has a great Mother’s Day with there loved ones this weekend. Remember without moms we wouldn’t be here today enjoying what we love to do.

Set about to polish the door panel stainless I picked up at Carlisle. Sawed a Grove in a 2x4 to hold the pieces while sanding. Just push the mounting spikes into the groove and clamp it to the bench. 400 grit first, needed something lower but didn't have any for the test piece. It was very hard to get the deepest scratches out. Then 600. Had some 1500, Then staves 1, 2, and 3 polishing on the trusty drill press. Dedicated buff for each grit and clean 'em with a screwdriver is the extent of my knowledge on this. Oh, and don't slip!
