The work you did on the body should be an inspiration to anyone who is trying to save an original "T" body. I like everything you have done even if you never drive it!! Fun with cars is what it is all about...…….

Not being negative, just factual. The frame is too low and has insufficient clearance from pavement...which is fine for a Roth-inspired non-driven exhibit piece, but not for the highway...

No one has come out and said the obvious which is that this is a full scale model car essentially and will just be looked at.

It will never move under its own power or be driven by anyone.

As a full sized art piece sort of like a cartoon caricature of a hot rod it’s pretty neat.

Making more parts for the car. Started the shifter assembly and got the grill mounted. Taillight and license plate and light done.

  10. I love it!
But I gotta ask; what are the driveshaft operating angles at the u-joints? (The angle between the trans & driveshaft and the angle between the driveshaft & rearend).

Motor is at +3 and rear end at -3. Have to put a angle finder on the drive shaft. The rear end has a adjustable four link so I can play with the angles.

  14. I’ve really enjoyed your build - do you have any pics of you in the car? I’m curious how that works with the dramatic stance & ride height.

I'd like to see a ripp down the strip...the Purple People Eater versus The Sultan...that would be priceless...

It's really coming together @twisted sister...

I really like it BUT, and every body has a butt,

I would like to see the radius rods "V ed " behind the spring mount and make them parallel with the ground..

    Super work and originality.....:)

I really believe it will never be an operational run under it's own power type car.
Maybe it could be pushed down the strip. ;)

I believe Twisted has crafted this Hotrod around his framework and will prove non believers to reconsider...it takes time to fabricate all the bells and whistles to make it happen and I'm confident that's exactly what he's diligently doing. I look forward to that milestone right here...

Quality takes time...and not only that...many Hotrods are anything but practical...mines good for about an hour before you need to get out and stretch a bit. I expected lack of luxury with a bit of awkward...comes with the territory.

Well, I have several cars I just like to look at, two in the carport,

Three in the garage mocked up, rollers.

My wife says "why you don't drive them? "
I reply, I like looking at them !!!

Go figure, can't explain it, even to myself...

I’m ready and willing to be proven wrong.
It certainly wouldn’t be the first time :D

I happen to agree with Larry on this point! It appears to just be built as an extreme show rod, not as a to be driven rod!

The other thing is there is no stipulation that one can't build an all Show Hotrod/Custom that portrays a past vintage era celebrated here. It really is a non disputable issue. Whether a car is show or go is up to the Builder. There are several Members here that have such Rolling Art Showcars and they and their vehicles deserve the same respect given to others who meet the Guidelines of the Hamb.

I would love to make that a reality! Have to get it out to California one day when it’s finished.

Thanks so much for the kind words. It will be a running and driving car. I’m building the car to fit myself. I know it’s really chopped and channeled but I fit in the car and my head doesn’t breach the roof line. Can’t wait to finish and fire it up! Thanks again for the kind comment.

Fitting in the car sitting upright in the seat without lying down and slouching and not having your head breach the roof line.

    Call me a skeptic :D
    Maybe you’re 3’ tall ;):D

I’d like to see some pictures of how you fit in there.

  28. Obviously guys this thing isn't built to drive across country. I don't see any reason it can't be a running and driving car. Is it practical? Hell no, should it be? Hell no. It's probably no worse than driving my Roadster, other than the visibility would be limited. It's a Hotrod, not a new Cadillac. I like it!

Oil and filter changes without crawling under it is a nice feature.
