Hb, shoot me a message and we'll figure something out on this pulley, it's done and ready to go for you!

  2. While waiting for the pulley from Flash, I tore into my steering box to determine what needs to be done.
Worm and sector have wear plus decided to upgrade to the 15:1 parts that are suppose to be a slight improvement.
Pricing out the parts and will start sourcing what I need. Anyone have p/n`s for the worm gear bearings. I know that I can buy them from the usual restoration places but Timken makes them and would be nice to find a number.

So, when I get back, we are going for a ride, right?:D Looks good!

  4. Working on it, but don`t hold your breath.
Need to rebuild the steering box, swap out the backing plates to the new MT products Bendix style from the 46-48 Lockheed originals that I modified to fit, check the rear diff for foreign debris, rebuild a starter, wire the truck and find time to pack for a move to the island.

    Any action on the house?

  6. Pulley arrived from Flash in Calgary and am overwhelmed with the condition it is in. Absolutely fantastic and he took the time to machine off the front sheave as well as blast and paint it. Thanks !!

Not a worry! I'm glad you're happy with the pulley!

  10. It has been a quiet couple of months due to the move and trying to get motivated.
I bought a set of Grace & Co air cleaners to add to the pile of parts.

  14. Yes they should Jim as I think it was just the base and innards that are different then the 97`s ?
Must be some Stromberg gurus lurking in the shadows.

yup,if they fit 97's they will fit 81's, as well as holley 94's, the necks are all the same size.

  16. That's what I thought as well George but not an expert. I can say, from experience, there is a difference between inside diameter of the 97's and 94's.

  17. I need to not be so lazy and pull mine out and measure them. I like the black

Hope they show up... Have read this thread from the beginning. GREAT subject!
Appreciate the tidbits, as the radiator 'stay rod diameters and thread lengths'...

  21. Finally some progress

Still have a lot of loose ends to tie up but my motivation is back.
