I'm happy with it. This is the second car I've used Kirker finishes on, the to other one is my '76 GMC dually pickup. It was painted 8 years ago with catalyzed enamel, has never been parked inside, and it's shiny as the day I painted it. I'm planning on shooting the Riviera with their candy, and likewise the T'bird. This is single stage urethane, it looks good right out of the gun, if I were going to try to make it perfect, I'd do a cut and buff, but it's not that kind of a car. Very acceptable, very affordable, easy to shoot and seems fine.

Nice, I see you're using the POR method. I'm aiming just a tad higher.

Awesome, Brian. I remember you asking about types of paint, etc. You obviously got it all figured out and set up good and the paint job shows it. Nothin' like no bugs in the paint. Congratulations!
I'll be doing the same this season.
Thanks for sharing. Gives me some confidence.

Tip: next time around shoot a coat of clear over that particle board ceiling. Or white. Anything to keep it from dropping dust (the stuff practically self-destructs before your eyes) in your paint.

Damn bro, a little mud in the dents and a little long board work and that shiny green would look good!

  9. Back in the day, I used to do that in my carport when I painted motorcycles. Works great!

Yea I know, this was my first time shooting this paint, I will be lucky to even get the truck to El Mirage for a pass this year, I used this for incentive to get it going.
