Vintage shots from days gone by!

Looks like the sign above windshield is reading Braddock. I'm thinking that picture is coming off of Rankin bridge, looking towards Swissvale.

 

I still remember this car running at Detroit Dragway. First time I heard a SBC with 180 degree headers ! Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I believe this is Doug Stearley. He owned Indy cars and a sprint car. Two of the best were killed in his cars though. Johnny Thomson and Tony Bettenhausen. The picture looks like outside Gasoline Alley Indy.

 

When I worked the hot test in this building, a 390 came off the overhead rail and damned near squished me !

This looks like a aircraft cargo door being use for a rear door.

 

I`d wager that ended poorly.

I recognize the paint scheme, 60's in Wisconsin all of our kid's cars looked like that from rust repair as most of the 50's cars were rust buckets already, we patched them up, painted them sometimes, but many were patch primered till they were sold, wrecked or junked. Many good memories from that time frame.
