What is the grill made from, or out off?

the front is 2 merc grill shells. the grill is a cut down 54 ford. V'd slightly to match the grill shell contour.

Thanks. that is a Kaiser guard. the bumper is 56 Dodge or Desoto rear turned upside down with about 8" cut out. I have a fortune in chrome work on this beast. The rear is a Dodge bumper cut down with a Kaiser guard as well. the exhaust goes through the bullets. Dad had an eye for detail.

Heres a couple shots of the same car over the years. I think its when he pulled the Nailhead engine and sold it.

in NC.JPG I brought the old girl home to NC this weekend. It has been flat towed from Dayton, Oh to Kansas City for the first merc/deuce reunion, Louisville Ky to Pat Keating's shop and then to the mountains of Virginia. Flat towed every single time. She left Virginia to NC on her own power in over 40 years! About 400 miles. I took it easy for about 50 miles then I layed the hammer down. She ran strong up the mountains and sounded better as the pipes cracked on the way down. A lot of thumbs up and pictures taken from people on the highway. About 20 miles from my house I lost a hood hinge bolt, the carb linkage fell off, I pushed the temp gauge to the max, ran a cop off the road, schooled some people on chopping tops, kustom work, being cool and George Barris at the local grocery as I added water to the radiator. All in all, a successful trip. Dad would be proud.

  12. Where you at in NC, I'm in Winston Salem.

  20. Nice write up @sideswipe! Almost as good as being there. It doesn't seem right that a guy can only like a post just once. This deserves at least half a dozen (lol)!
I hope to see the car in person some day. Glad to see it back on the road! E

Thanks for the kind words and support from all of you. She still needs a few things here and there, like shocks. I swear they are the factory ones. Haha
