Cool video, thanks for posting that link. That is one bitchin' roadster. I just went through this whole thread from the beginning and I'm absolutely blown away. I'll add more congrats and respect for what you've done. Wow.

Hope to see you in Iowa in May. Hopefully it will be a bit warmer than a couple weeks ago when I drove it to Dubuque for Retro Rewind.

Watching the videos of the AMBR contenders all talking about the thousands of hours over several years, not to mention the dollars, make me feel a lot better about the shortcomings of this little hot rod. Built from scratch in 9 months of nights and weekends with very little help in a one man amateur shop. Three thousand miles and counting. I need to get it cleaned up for Detroit Autorama if it ever quits snowing and drifting the path to the shop 3' deep.

  4. I was thinking the same thing! When I was on the AMBR thread I was going to vote for yours but I figured I would start a war. I really appreciate the home build and the driving! That is the way Hot Rodding used to be. I am really proud of my build it’s a wonderful feeling driving something you built down the road! The only part of my 37 P,ymouth build I didn’t do myself was the glass. I didn’t want to cut it myself. Hobo Jim

I would put my vote on Cory Taulbert's deuce as I know he drives it and drives it hard. How many other AMBR contenders drove the same miles from Michigan to California?

  6. I agree Corey gets my vote I just wish there was an award for real home built Hot Rods that are built by the owners. It’s not what you can buy it’s what you can build. In my opinion whoever ends up with your car is getting one of the best cars around!

Thanks. I like to channel the AMBR connection as I did use Cory's wishbone bungs and stole my rear suspension design from him. It's kinda the same right?

Since I never finished the nose pad for the steering wheel, I figured I would break out the old Singer and whip one up quick tonight. Not perfect but it sorta fits that way. Shoulda done it in black, but it has to go in the trailer in the morning to head to Detroit. See ya in the basement. Looks like you made it, not bought it. A proper hotrod part.

Wasn’t expecting that. Autorama has been a pretty cool trip this year. 9C4D8BBB-8498-4610-A093-E15B4053E679.jpeg

It’s been a trip. Saturday evening we will see who gets to be the new owner. Get to Vintage Torquefest in Dubuque Iowa this weekend for your last chance to enter.
