Had a bearing noise in the blower so I had Don Hampton rebuild it,
    excellent job.
I had previously cut the choke towers off the carbs. Willys blower rebuild 006.jpg Willys blower rebuild 012.jpg Willys blower rebuild 021.jpg Willys blower rebuild 028.jpg Coupe Blower Rebuild 001.jpg Coupe Blower Rebuild 005.jpg Coupe Blower Rebuild 002.jpg Coupe Blower Rebuild 004.jpg

I heard a strange noise from the BDS 671 in my 30 pickup so I shipped it to a reputable
company in So. Cal. whose name I won't divulge.
They replaced the bearings and shipped it back.
I installed it and as you can see it smoked out the neighborhood [seals]. HR motor seq 3.jpg HR motor seq 3.5.jpg HR motor seq 10.jpg HR motor seq 8.jpg
They screwed up, I removed it again and sent it back with a big complaint.
They went through it again, OK this time.
These shots are probably out of order but check out the smoke.
That's why I had Don Hampton rebuild the 671 on the Willys, perfect,
    Mick

Speaking of blowers, I was practicing on a variety of pulleys on the pickup because it's easier to work on.
I went too far, go figure, and cracked the block, look at the head gasket! Pump gas with additive.
It blew every gasket out of the motor but MAN was it fast!
Got another bare block and started over, it's fine now. HR motor seq 7.jpg HR motor seq 4.jpg HR motor seq 5.jpg HR motor seq 6.jpg

I you offered me a ride in your Willys, Uber or otherwise, I would be all over that like a duck on a June bug!

    Your car is absolutely stunning.

Hi Steve, I'm around 30 miles east of San Francisco so that's about 480 north of San Diego I believe.
    Maybe see ya in June???

Mick, I don't think I can squeeze in that long of a road trip while I am in California. But if things change I will send you a private message.

Great Pics, of your Build. Always have the Distributers in the Front, on my stuff, but I see the joy of it being in the rear of your engine. This is gonna be a pain, on my build..

I've never been a fan of the Blue Oval or late model Hemi's just because the distributor is in the front, but truth be told, that Sumbitch is gonna be Killer!!!

    A blown injected Cammer, wow!
I know that took some engineering just to get the pulleys in place.
Didn't Connie Kalitta [spell check] build one of those decades ago?
What's the plans on a radiator?
    Yes, I'm interested.
I respect all three in any order, Chevy Ford and Mopar, they're all fast.
    Please keep us posted, thanks,

    Hi Mick,
This was an Tommy Grove back up engine, I got from a friend. but the Pulleys and Mag, are a work of art, from the late 60's. Not sure on the Radiator, as of yet, but an electric water pump is a must. I'm like you, I like them all. I am always looking at your pictures, as a reference, for my project. Thanks, and I will keep you in the Loop!

Hi Eric, that IS a work of art and a piece of history.
I've seen radiators in the bed of pickups, what an interesting build.
I see you've got a couple of 64 Galaxies, we use to run them too at Fremont.
427, top loader, 457s. Dig those Fords!
Looking forward to some build shots!

Rear fender wells; I bought two funky pair out of Arizona to make two good ones.
Cut 'em up, welded them together and installed them,

    Could use some opinions.
Going through some shots of the rear fender wells, I came across a shot of these panels
that I was going to upholster in black tuck-roll. I had forgotten all about them.
The fender wells came out perfect, brushed on some black POR15 and it looks like they were
powder coated originals, instead of blending 2 out of 4.
So, think I should leav Rear wall in 1.jpg Trunk hinges.jpg Trunk painted.jpg trunk panels.jpg e it alone or upholster them??????

Eric, distributors in the front? My buddy Greg had a 427 Ford powered steel Willys coupe called Paranoia. I just saw him last night.
    4-speed too.
He sold it in the 1990s to a guy out of state, we went to the nostalgia drags in St. Louis [Gateway Gasser Gathering] and the new owner put a BBC in it and was racing it.
Wheels up [attached], Greg then purchased an Anglia, a former drag car too, attached, Greg Burg Willys.jpg Greg Burg Anglia.jpg

    Really came out nice!
I like the swing out bar, I should do that as well.
What kind of shifter is that?
    Good job Mike,

  29. Mick. Thanks for the input. The shifter was made by Brian Killduf , he is in LA.Cal. and hand makes the units. Very strong and works great. Brian told me if I break it, he would make me another free.:)
