Does anyone know how to change the location of reverse on my hurst competition plus shifter? Right now it is to the left and up, i need it to be to the left and down in order to work with my transmission. Flipping the bracket on the transmission interferes the 1-2 shifter rods.

I'd have to go out an look at the shifter hanging in the shed but I don't think that there is anything on the shifter to prevent it from being shifted left and down rather than left and up except the trans it's self.

  3. I have to agree... Now, with that said, I think some shifters used a different-length reverse lever to gain clearance but I suspect you'll have to rework the shifter rods and maybe the trans levers to make it work.

Maybe some sort of a bellcrank device?

So i found that the mounting plate that mounts the shifter to the trans had a cut out for the pin on the shifter to go through. This cutout only allowed the shifter to move forward. I drilled and filed it so now it should go the other way. I'm switching from the sloppy ITM shifter to the competition plus on a Saginaw 4 speed...

Thank you for your imput guys,
