Not being a drag racer, what was the time frame that a crew guy held the car at starting line, how long did this trend last ? local deal or national ? Thanks in advance

    Hello,
That streamliner is not the Glass Slipper. This is the Cortopassi Bros. Glass Slipper. It is/was one of the most distinct, streamlined shaped FED race cars during that bygone era.

But, in 1959-60 era, there were still some pit crew guys still hanging on to the rails. (despite the brake lever being used.) It was part of the pit crew's staging regiment.

  6. I'm sure it was national and only lasted a short time, late 50's. I know if I'm incorrect someone will tell us the facts.

The first shot shows a young Sam Hanks as a very successful midget driver. This was probably taken around 1939 or so.

Rootie, you've got me on the second attached shot. It was taken at Langhorne but I'm not recognizing the driver. Just guessing but could this be Mack Hellings?

    Thanks!
