I know that I don't have many photos considering All the great cars and things going on, but all I have is a crappy IPhone at this point. Anywho, this is what I have!

Finally made it outside, but missed a lot of great cars. Next year, we will go outside first! Oh well, hope you like them. Also, met John Mullen and some of the crew of The Va. HAMB Special and Joey Ukrop of The Rodder's Journal and The HAMB. A pretty good day, Carp!

    Love the Jeep Wrecker.

  14. I walked by this a couple of times hoping to catch the owner and talk with them.
There used to be a few of these in my hometown, they all had plows mounted to them and were pretty much fully rusted out. I was curious to learn what condition this was in when the restoration started. Great little piece of automotive history for sure and I am glad someone saved it.

Frankie, that wrecker was ready to work. Chappy, being from UPstate N.Y., any Jeep had a short life span! It would be great to know the history of this one, it was really nice.

  17. I spent some time at The Rodders Journal table myself, going through their stacks filling in some of the gaps in my collection. Joey Ukrop? Any chance he is related to the Ukrop grocery chain family in the Richmond area? Hence the move from California to Ashland Va. Or is that just a coincidence?

  20. A quick Google search and a Linked In look shows that features writer Joey Ukrop was born in the Motor City and graduated from Missouri's journalism school...so any tie to the Richmond Ukrops family must be distant relatives at best.

I have talked with Joey numerous times on here and other sites. Made it a point to meet him in person and found out that he is actually staying with relatives in the Richmond area so there might be a connection. He was going back to Ca. after the show as TRJ is still in the moving process. Great young man, Carp.
