Brian Kohlmann contacted me about the possibility of displaying his fuel coupe at the 2019 Vintage Torque Fest car show in Dubuque Iowa (the show is this weekend on Friday May 3rd and Saturday May 4th at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds). Not only did Brian want to display the car but he also wants to start the car up on nitro during the show! This was all Brian's idea and it took me an almost perfect reaction time of .001 to say Hell Yes! Vintage Torque Fest raises awareness for kids with congenital heart disease and donates the show's profits to these families to help with expenses not covered by their insurance. Brian is a Cardiac Invasive Specialist when he is not drag racing his coupe and he wants to do this to help spread the word about heart issues. Brian will have his coupe at the 2019 Vintage Torque Fest in the main show parking lot on both Friday and Saturday. Brian plans on starting the car on nitro periodically during the show (depending on the weather). He may also drive the coupe on the Country Cruise on Friday afternoon at 1:30. This cruise is a caravan of cars taking the back roads from the show in Dubuque to Galena and then back to Dubuque. So come to the show and stop by Brian’s trailer to say hi and stick around to hear the mighty nitro Hemi cackle and help us raise money for these kids. And thank you Brian for offering to do this to help the kids.

Worth the anticipation I assure you! @racer-x is a great guy and that “car” is bananas!

  9. We will be there for sure on Friday morning. I plan on doing the cruise at 1:30 pm join us if you can. I have been driving it this year between snow storms so it's ready for street duty. The rest of the day I will be converting to car over to race mode and cleaning it up. Stop by to say high and get a beer while supplies last. The weather looks great both days. I'm part of a upcoming TV show about participating in drag week type events. A camera crew will be onsite doing their thing. We have to go to cedar falls dragstrip Saturday for on track footage. I'm on the TV crews schedule. I haven't been to the show since the car crashed in Detroit a few years ago so I'm excited to attend this year. Stop out and show your support for a great cause. The financial devastation the families face is horrible as they deal with a sick child. I just can't imagine the stress these families go through. There's alot of donated item that go up for auction. Bid high. Bid to win. This money also goes to deserving families. See you there.

This is a great show for a good cause. Go if you can. I’m out of town, had to miss it this year, but I’ll be back.

Cool pics, planned on being there, just didn't get my truck done. I have been to Retro Rewind in January, put on by the same group. If this show is anything like that one it will be a great show for a great cause.

The one with aprons and back fenders on an a frame? @justabeater37 built it in like 37 days and drove it for the first time in the show parking lot! I’m sure he’ll chime in later when he gets home

Doesn't look to crowded considering the nice weather, or was it just that early?

  21. That early. Those cars were left overnight. I took the pics before the gate opened. The weather was perfect. The grounds were packed with hundreds of cars. There might have been a thousand I don't know for sure. I have been to a few of John's shows and this is the biggest one I have been a part of. Everywere you looked there were cars with people around with smiles on their faces. Bands were playing; mini bikes riding around and racing on the track. The swap meet was a good size. There was plenty of spectator parking. Lots of vendors inside and outside. It was awesome.

The amount of nice traditional cars I’ve been seeing posted is awesome! Weather looks to have been amazing! Glad it was such a big success... even if I didn’t win the roadster lol
