So does this mean it's painted, or did they have a sale on paper? :D

We found a little motivation this afternoon. Since the chassis up front and the engine compartment are painted we decided to start to put it all back together.

    Resized_20190414_134242.jpeg
We masked off all the suspension parts and gave them all a quick bit of touch up Satin Black.

    Resized_20190414_134234.jpeg
We had a little assembling line going. I dissasembled and masked the parts and Dad ran the paint shop.

    Resized_20190414_144727.jpeg
When everything was dry we started to re-install the pieces. All bearings and seals in place. It actually went back together with very little effort...in fact the only thing we missed placed was a single cotter pin...I will take that all day long! LOL.

AND YES...that is a loaded caliper. Hot dang!

    Resized_20190414_162956.jpeg
After we finished the driver's side we knocked out the passenger and tonight we are ready to stick the front wheels back on and get her standing on her own again.

I watch your threads from the beginning, just don't write much. Now i have to :).
I am usually going an extra mile with brake disc - i mask the part that brake pads go to and paint everything else. That way you won't have ugly rust lurking from underneath nice wheel. Just saying :).

Yep, that is what Dad is painting there. We even pulled the o'rings in the sliders and then reinstalled them after the paint dried. I have had really good luck with that Duplicolor Caliper paint.

Looks like you guys'll be getting the same crappy weather we'll have this week. Does that equal shop time? :)

Well since the front half of the chassis and suspension is complete we had plans this weekend to drop the motor and trans in... However this very nice little hydraulic line for the throw out bearing had a different idea!
    20190427_164357.jpeg

No way this thing works hanging out that far. It is sticking out about 3" in an area that allows less than half an inch! ...yes it is that tight in there.
    20190427_164329.jpeg

And what really hurt was we discovered it Saturday about a half hour after our local performance parts store close!

Not sure...but we went to MOKAN Friday night for the "Floppers" and we are sort of motivated again!

So with the motor still on the stand we simply set about masking and painting the chassis aft of the engine compartment. It only took a few minutes to shoot it but about 3 hours worth of masking...that is what you get when you change your mind on the chassis color more than halfway through!
    20190428_124228.jpeg

While we were at it we pulled the rear calipers and brackets and painted them.
    20190428_162435.jpeg

This was the last of the hard parts that needed paint.
    20190428_162934.jpeg

And after it was all back together...poof there's another set if loaded calipers!

Well wouldn't you know it. Remember this fancy little hydraulic line for the throw out bearing? Well it is all but proprietary in design. Custom made just for Silver Sport. I say "all but" because it is a bubble head style 14mm FTE 1.25 thread. If that is not hard enough to find the real proprietary part is the rest of the stainless steel end with bleeder etc.

    View attachment 4269254

But the guys at Silver Sport Transmissions are awesome! It was the first time they have had this issue with this set up. So they attempted to re-engineer a new line. But in the end decided to choose a different (more standard) style of throw out with two lines one being a bleeder.

They shipped it today and asked me to send mine back when the new stuff arrives! Now that is service!

Yep. That is Factory Dragon Snake two after it was sold to the public. Funny because it looks like it is at a dealership and being sold but the 666 came well after the original sale etc.
