Event Coverage Jalopyrama 2019 Pictures

  1. I also had issues getting my car ready in time. A buddy was on his way down to help get the wiring straightened out and go to the show. Unfortunately, he had car issues while still 3 hours away...

Now I'm going to post one with a special group of people....the panel jammers:

A BIG part of Mike Szuba's having started Jalopyrama was to have it be a benefit show that donates all proceeds to local organizations. Proceeds are gathered from several sources:
    • The $10 per person entrance for hot rod drivers and passengers is the same as the $10 per person for all specatators (not including kids 12 or under, active military, and active first responders).
    • The profits from sale of t-shirts, posters, and other swag
    • Advertizing in program book
    • The 50/50
    • The auction of donated items
    • etc.......
The panel jam brings the pinstripers together in a fascinating display of their collective and unique talents with their brushes in a timed event where they play musical chairs on, in this case, 8 different colored panels. Each panel starts with the first laydown of that striper's color. They have two minutes to add their color to that panel, and the next, and the next....... Each panel takes on a unique personality as each successive striper add his interpretation to the panel in front of him. WOW!

Then the panels are auctioned off after the paint dries.

Thank you stripers. Thanks for your donating your time at the show to both entertain the onlookers. Thanks for creating unique wall hangings for the eventual winners at the auction. And thanks for allowing your creativity to be used to raise even more for the local organizations to which Jalopyrama contributes the proceeds.

  6. Great reminder, Jim, of all of the important reasons for this show. And yes, those pinstripers are an immensely talented and charitable bunch...........Don.
