Another Oklahoma winner, Jimmy Nix, did he ever stop smiling? Chevy engine in this TE-440 came out of Jimmy's '40 Ford gasser...he later went on to top fuel, died in a top-end crash, still missed by those who knew him, and that was a lot of people...

Kent Endrele's car, with a belly tank front for a nose. Given the scoop placement, he was running an inline engine, but I don't know what it was. Kent lived near me in Pasadena, CA, and I used to stop by his house to see his latest projects. He founded Endrele injection after studying engineering at Caltech, along with Pete Jackson. I didn't have an i.d. on this car, it came from Robert Post, whose book "High Performance" is THE history of drag racing. Robert also lived near me in Pasadena, though I didn't know him then.
