  2. I took this photo at the Carlisle Pa. Swap meet today. A 32 Vicky. This week's (RUST IN PEACE) I guess it would have been yesterday as, it's now after midnight. 20190426_001503.jpeg 20190426_001546.jpeg

  3. I am sorry for my absence lately. On top of several non-hot rod related commissions and taking a storyboard job on for a new animated program, I've had little time to prep work for the Art show. Last week, being Easter weekend didn't help but I am excused fro that one.

So oldies it is, from back in the beginning, when I first started posting stuff on here.

Oh, please, fewer snapshots, more artistically planned photography! This is a HOT ROD and CUSTOMS website
with certain rules and we don't want our art show taken away from us now do we? Car Kulture art and related themes are good too.

Snow's gone...Ice's out! Time for a little GRILLIN' in the Green Mountains!!

I offer a triptych in honor of the occasion...(or a few "snapshots", depending on your point of view). And a not so fond farewell to April showers. Have a wonder-full weekend Friends! CSC_0924.JPG CSC_0923.JPG CSC_0922.JPG

I pencil- sketched this Model A on Sunday. I have a reasonably sound frontal sketch of it too, done previously. Here I've added some HAMB spice to the details seen on the original drawing. I guess this is one way I'd do a '28/9 tudor..

    Hello,

Ever since we saw photos of the Hank Vincent’s Top Banana FED, we have been impressed. My brother said we could build the motor, assemble and do all tuning/mechanics, but someone else would have to do the chassis/body work. We knew our limits. Then, we would be in the Top Eliminator races at every dragstrip.

We knew there would be a limit as to how big we could go with a SBC motor and be competitive. With a GMC supercharged SBC motor in this streamlined body, it stood out as a fast race car. We were fortunate to be able to see and watch this red streamliner show up/race at the 1960 Bakersfield Smokers March Meet #2.

The red, streamlined, FED set records for the class. It was like watching a Drag News feature come to life. It became one of the short lived race cars during this time period (1958-60) of drag racing. Hank Vincent was killed driving the Top Banana several months after the 1960 March Meet in Bakersfield.

It was one of the nicest FED race cars to come out of Northern California during this time, with the streamlining and all. It just looked fast and powerful, sitting in the pits.

  13. Good morning, I'm not an artist or Photographer. I've never sold a sketch or a photo. I'm just a HOT RODDER. But thanks for letting me play on here. If I ever post a snap shot, or drawing, that anyone feels is not suited for the HAMB. Please just delete it, or let me know. I do get a little carried away sometimes. lol 20171014_112611.jpg 20171014_112152.jpg 20171014_094009.jpg 20171014_104054.jpg All I use is a #2 pencil and, or cell phone.;)lol I'm on my way to the Jaloprama today. I'll try and take a few photos of some stuff I think's COOL. Here's a few from the last show. Thanks Guys :) Ron....

  16. I wasn't calling you out Ron, I know you get fired up and that is great! I enjoy much of your work, you take nice 'thought out' photos and you consider things like composition and lighting. I enjoy your enthusiasm and find your stuff fun and entertaining!

I know I'll be taking a bit of wind out of some sails and maybe will take a bit of heat for this and I really do appreciate all the people who contribute. I know we are not all pros and that it's all about participating so the pictures I am referring to are the family photos and straight standard car show pics and things like that. So far, the photos posted today fit right in so please don't take it personally. It all about keeping things from going off the rail. I wish we still got 7-10 pages worth of content but those days seem to be gone...
