    YEP
I had plans to take it and the 98 Silverado that Ethan is getting to the muffler shop today.
The 98 gave some brake problems Saturday. I thought a emergency brake cable was stuck but when I went to get it so I could jack it up and diagnose it I saw a puddle of brake fluid at the back wheel.
One of the wheel cylinders had blown apart.
So today there will be new drums shoes and wheel cylinders for the truck and muffler shop Friday.

Well it is up on the lift now.
I have a problem the headers have some small holes in them. :( I will need some more headers or some of the big exhaust manifolds for it. F5884F55-53EF-404E-90CD-9B98141BBCFA.jpeg

It still had the double wall pipe from the factory from the headers back. 1D28B9C2-D5B7-426F-B227-92BC001E239C.jpeg

Wasn't that long ago I went through the same problem on a customer's 65. we went with the 2 1/2 inch manifolds.

They do repop those don't they enloe? I found a stock set a few years ago that I used on my 58 Brookwood wagon. Caught a bunch of crap when I cut the generator mount off the left one. Joe

The one I worked on had a right side alternator and had problems finding a left side, so I used two right side and had to cut the mount off for the left side to clear the park brake cable.

FWIW the '65 350 horse L79 exhaust manifolds had 2 & 1/2 inch dumps. The '66 L79 did not. For '66 they used 2 inch dumps but they continued to use 2 &1/2 inch exhaust pipes. The header pipe was 2 inch at the manifold connection but ballooned out to 2.5 just below that. Chevy engineers apparently felt this approach did not adversely affect performance.

Depending on what you want Enloe, maybe there is a cash savings there.

Again FWIW Enloe and I don't know what your goals are. L79's sound great so I'm adding a link of an effort to recreate that sound.

FYI some of the stock car racing parts sellers offer those bigger manifolds.
