My car is Chevy Fleetmaster -48. It is lowered from back 4 inc and in the front it´s standard. My idea is lower from the front 2,5 inc.
Currently car has 16 inc wheels with tires 600-16 wide whitewalls.
I am looking new wide whitewall tires and was comparing overall diameter to; 450/475, 525 and 550 -16 tires. Choosing 450/475 tires car will be lowering 1,18 inc.
I am wondering how this tire 450/475 will fit to the car? What kind of experiences others will have they tire set ups?

    450/475 diameter is 26,20 and 600 is 28,56= difference 2,36 / 2 = 1,18 inc

Shorter tires will sure lower it, but probably not the best way to do it. Do you want it to sit like a hot rod, or a custom?

Hi. to lower 2.5" by changing tire size you will need a tire 5" less diameter than the 600/16's.
Best options for that much drop is either dropped spindles or a kit where you grind rivets out of front lower spring cups and mount them lower. This drops height without sacrificing ride. Cutting coils out of spring is the easiest method but ride sucks when you do this.
Looking in Coker catalog it shows 600/16 at 28.66" diameter and their smallest 450/16 at 26.2" diameter. That almost 2.5" less tire size will lower the car only 1.25" so getting what you want with a tire change is about impossible.
So look for either dropped spindles or the kit to lower front spring cup. Either of these do not give horrible rides. Jimmie

I lowered my 48 with a Chassis Engineering crossmember, dropped spindles just make the front end way to low if using a crossmember change. I also had to use different springs in the front than came with the JW Garage A arms.
