I was asked by a buddy if I could nail together a 27 T roadster for him to run at Pendine Sands.. that was in 2017 and That same year I build a frame and running gear with a track style nose. The car ran at Pendine with an overheating motor but we pushed it to the line and it managed a best of 87mph the idea originally was to try to emulate a 40s style racer so after Pndine it come back for a full belly pan.. Its not a race car, just a styled T along the lines of a salt flat racer , so after a wee bit of graft I sorted some new panels and a full belly pan.. Its now back with my buddy to have a rebuilt motor fitted in readiness for Pendine 2019..
So it returned for some new clothes .. its not a show car, so no sper fine detailed shiny wheeled panels. Its just an exercise in styling up the T. yep there is probably more to do but time constraints meant it had to go back to my buddy to have the new motor fitted .. Its got wheeling marks , scratches, dings and a few welds that make it look like its had repairs after a tough season.. basically tried to emulate a period style race car ..
I did think about that , but with the current panels its a dual purpose car, a bit like a reversible jacket In 10 mins the panels are off and its back to the original canvas.
Stunning Craftsmanship going on here @redoxide...I'm a little late to the party. There is a lot going on with this build. Definately has the Dry Lakes Racing look Down to a 'T'... There's 481 reasons I'm glad I found this thread. Thanks for sharing and look forward to the continued progression to the sands.
