Hot Rods Did a little shopping lately:

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Rocky, Apr 23, 2019.

  1. I'm always trying to improve my trusty ol 34, five window and when something I want comes up for sale, if I have the $$$ for it I buy it. I try to buy from the HAMB classifieds as much as possible and last week I saw a pair of 8.5"X15" Americans as a fair price. Yeah, the Chinese guys make new ones but they don't have the offset I need.
The next day I found a matching pair of air cleaners for my small-top early AFBs. I've been collecting the parts I need for this dual quad Pontiac setup. The air cleaners were the perfect style for my build and after I put them on my buffing wheel with a little rubbing compound followed with some Wenol, they look much better. A LOT better than the scroungy carbs but everything will be addressed before I bolt 'em on.
Now, I gotta hit the swap meets to recoup the $$ loss.

  11. Nice finds Rocky. First thing after starting coffee in the morning is to check the HAMB parts. Seems like some little treasure pops up almost every week. And HAMBers are the BEST to deal with.

Nice. As Hamb classified editor you must keep a close eye on the ads. Sounds like a dangerous job. ;)

  18. Old post but I actually did find a nice pair of front wheels..........a pair of 15"X4" [cut and welded 15"X6"]. Cleaned and painted the used 15"X8.5" rear wheels and hit the centers with etching primer and then a couple coats of stainless steel paint. I like the look a lot better than the old powder coated Chrysler wires. 34americansfinished1.jpg 34americanspaint.jpg 34newtires2.jpg
