Looks like early Inglewood on Market street. The UA an Fox theater were across the street from each other. I'm sure other towns were that way too. so it's just a guess and probably wrong..

You can just see the "You Auto Buy Now" sign on the door of this '58 Olds. My cousin was selling Oldsmobiles in Beverly Hills in '58 and there was a severe recession and sales of '58 cars was very low. They were holding parades and tent sales as part of the national You Auto Buy Now program in an attempt to stimulate sales. This was part also of the very bad timing for introduction of the Edsel. The slow sales was partially responsible for GM scrapping their planned model lineup for '59 and getting the radically updated '59's on the market. I was 14 and my cousin was living with us. He brought home the literature he needed to know to prepare for the new '59 Olds and I was blown away by the new styling. I also got to see the new car designs and sales material in the Summer of '58. Those were the days!

I stop there every time I go west, definitely worthwhile to stop and take a look. The exhibited cars change every few months.

Most people don't know that Schlitz Beer was owned by David Uihlein, and all those six pack sales funded one of the finest car collections in the country. Bob
