Folks Of Interest Would the people posting classified STOP using the term RAT!

Man it drives me nuts when I surf the classifieds and some of these jack wads use the term rat or rat rod in there title to describe there parts. This isn't ebay or craigslist! Everyone looking at the classifieds here on the hamb knows what they are looking for. Maybe the moderators can delete some of these posts and these ass hats will learn how to post on here.

 

I think screen names with ratrod in them should be banned

 

Check their "other posts" you will find that the majority of those have never posted or even commented here on the board and all they do is use Ryan's free advertising.

 

I've never noticed it here, but it sure doesn't belong. I may use the term on "that auction site" to move rusty crap I wouldn't think of selling to a HAMB member. Bob

 

Those rats! I hate seeing it used to sell parts. It makes the seller seem stupid.
Rat Rod is for Rat Rods and not for selling hot rod parts even though the rat rod is a hot rod.

If I want a rat rod, I would build a rat rod and use unusual parts on it. But to call parts rat rod parts is pretty stupid and I don't want to see it in an ad. I usually bypass the ad as soon as I see rat rod in it.

Mr48 is correct. Mostly the turds only selling in the HAMB classifieds and not participating in the HAMB are using "RAT" to sell their crap.

I hope this thread lasts a while. It could be interesting.

 

Personally I'm not crazy about the term but booting people off the hamb for a username that has RR in it is a little harsh. HRP

The only such allowance should be for a rat motor. Then it would properly be described as a rat motored hot rod!

 

Urban legend says that if you look in a mirror and say “Rar Rod” three times, one will appear in your garage.

And I despise seeeing that term in a for sale ad.

 

I’ve used that term in an ad description because it’s a popular search name. I hate them but you gotta know your market. Search “rod” and you will pull up a lot more “rat” than “hot” or “street”.

Maybe instead of griping amongst ourselves, the perps should be messaged that we don't do rat crap here? It'd just take a sec.

 

Then something unexpected happens.
