That's Richard Petty himself in the helmet and cowboy boots beating the hell out of the roof. It started to separate above the windshield. He got out of the car beat in down, put two holes in the roof and wire tied it to the halo bar, got backs in and finished the race. He liked racing in boots because the souls were thick and help protect his feet from the heat. That was racing back then.
