I was flipping through some old drag racing magazines last night found a few things. 20190412_214557.jpeg 20190412_214522.jpeg 20190412_214357.jpeg

The Irwindale guys too. Larry Sutton (black hat), Richard (forgot his last name) in the center of the shot, funny hair-do. Both guys were starters at Irwindale over the years.
Cool shot, I didn't know (Steve Haight, owner) Mike (tuner, driver) ran a wing on that car. Also a later "flag" design paint from the original design.

Keep up the good work Loudbang and others! Is there a thread for Front Engine Dragsters? I've searched and can't really find one.

  24. Shit happens. ;) After taking a second look, I believe that is a version of Gary Cochran's (Mr. C) Ford powered modified roadster.

A very early version before the slingshot configuration?

  26. Yeah Roo, it was very similar to Gary Cagle's modified.

i love this blue one! it looks like a couple of kids built a street t and then got the racing bug. it's a glass body. notice the wood bracing inside.

Not unlike the first one I built when I was a teenager. Looks like he used the same plans as I did.

I don't know why you don't see more builds like this today. They could be built fairly cheap and don't require a big hp engine to go pretty quick. Gathering parts to build one myself.
